Backgrounds Tutorial (Pre-Recorded)

Suitable for total beginners or more experienced painters.

I’ve included 4 different ideas for backgrounds in this video. The kind of gradient which I use for a garden scene, a sky and water, a creative wash that can be a nice starter to all sorts of paintings and a galaxy sky. All of these backgrounds could have their own video, but this one will get you started and give you some ideas.

This is a *pre-recorded* virtual session, based on the popular watercolour zoom session which runs live every week with an absolutely lovely gang of attendees. These pre-recorded sessions are approximately 30 minutes long, but you can re-watch them and hopefully they will set you off full of inspiration for as long painting as you need.
